Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF)

Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) is a global charity that works to improve the lives of people around the globe. With more than 1.3 million members, it is the world’s largest service organization and helps support various causes, such as vision, hunger, and disaster relief. LCIF was created with the mission of “fact-based and collaborative approaches to developing solutions that fit the realities of local communities and meet global challenges.” The Foundation focuses on four key areas that are critical to making sustainable progress: poverty alleviation, healthcare, education, and environmental protection. Projects supported by LCIF are commonly designed, developed, and implemented in collaboration with local Lions clubs and partner organizations. Through the generosity of their members and donors, LCIF provides service grants to aid projects all over the world. The Foundation also provides aid and assistance to those affected by natural disasters, medical expenses, and emergency relief efforts. Whether at home or abroad, LCIF helps to provide opportunities for people in need to build a better life for themselves and their families. While some of their projects may be small and localized, they all work together to make a world of difference.


In addition to funding Lions clubs' efforts, they support opportunities to: improve access to quality healthcare, provide programs to individuals with disabilities, expand opportunities for youth, promote literacy and bullying prevention, and much more. LCIF was founded in 1968 by Melvin Jones, a charter member of the first Lions clubs. Since then, LCIF has played a vital role in empowering Lions to help those around the world who need it most. Lions clubs around the world find ways to assist through LCIF grants, disaster relief efforts, and educational opportunities, allowing Lions to care for the greater good of their local and global communities. By working together, Lions are able to help more people in more places around the world to see, hear, and be healthy. By joining hands with Lions, LCIF is able to create a lasting impact on local and global communities.
