NEPAL LIONS DAY

Congratulation to all Lion leaders of Nepal for the Establishment Day of Lions Club in Nepal : 9'th August 1971. It's such a great achievement for all the Lion leaders of Nepal, who have dedicated themselves to help others since their beginnings. The Establishment Day of Lions Club in Nepal was initiated to carter the needs of people in local as well as international level and now the epitome has reached to satisfaction and happiness level on 9’th August. As a Lions leader, we have served millions of lives around the world through our various humanitarian and social service activities. Our dedication to serve and aid those in need has shown the way to progress and improved livelihood conditions of many.

Therefore, we all the members of Lions Club International, Nepal express our heartfelt congratulations to all our fellow Lion leaders for their tireless efforts towards achieving this milestone. We believe that the day marks the beginning of a new era for the Lions Club of Nepal and will strengthen the service and dedication of our members. We look forward to serve more people in the years to come and touch more lives.

LIONS CLUB INTERNATIONAL HISTORY IN NEPAL :
Lion Matrika Prasad Koirala ( The Prime Minister of Nepal for two terms from 16 November 1951 to 14 August 1952 and again from 15 June 1953 to 11 April 1955 ) was a pioneer in the field of service and philanthropy in Nepal who had the dream of making Nepal a better place for all. He took every opportunity he could to do something for the people of his country, and the establishment of the Lions Club of Biratnagar in 1971 was a testament to that. The club was established with a vision of providing the people with the best services and guidance, especially in times of difficulty. Koirala was also instrumental in bringing the Lions philosophy to Nepal, something which he believed was essential for improving the nation's service sector. He was very passionate about promoting the core values of Lions Clubs International, and he dedicated much of his time to the betterment of the Club and its members. Koirala truly acted as a leader in the club, and his tireless efforts and dedication set the standard for the many clubs that have been formed since. It is due to his hard work that the Lions Club of Biratnagar has become such a successful club today, providing quality services and guidance to the people of Nepal. It is indeed a testament to the magnitude of his hard work that he was able to become the first President of Lions Club of Biratnagar. Lion Matrika Prasad Koirala will always be remembered as a leader who strove to bring the best possible services to the people of Nepal, a legacy that will live on through the many clubs he founded and the initiatives he championed.


Be it promoting health and literacy among children, creating awareness about public health, providing educational assistance, or providing community service, Lions Club Nepal has done it all. They have helped countless Nepalese citizens in times of need and distress. From distributing relief assistance during the April 2015 earthquake to providing medical and psychosocial support during floods, Lions have been instrumental in providing emergency response, health care and various other help to the people of Nepal.


The members of the Lions Club have been active in various social activities as well such as providing scholarships to students from underprivileged backgrounds, providing training and skill development programs, organizing awareness campaigns, and conducting free eye check-up camps for the needy. The club also encourages members to take up various projects and activities to spread the message of social service and philanthropy across the country.
The Lion's Club Nepal has been instrumental in changing the lives of many Nepalese people since its inception in 1971 and the Club will continue to strive for a better tomorrow for all. With its far-reaching network and dedicated members, the Lion Club Nepal is sure to retain its legacy of helping those in need and making the world a better place for everyone.

Lion District in Nepal:
In 1976-77

Lion Dr. Anjani Kumar Sharma became the first Nepali District Governor of 322 E and Multiple Council Chairperson in 1977-78.

In 1982-83:
Nepal got its full-fledged district i.e.325. Lion H.P. Giri became the First District Governor of Lions Clubs International District 325, Nepal.

In 1997-98 :

Lion Pankaj Pradhan became the Multiple Council Chairperson of District 325.

2 Lions Districts in Nepal:
In 1997-98 :

Lions Clubs International Multiple District 325, Nepal was bifurcated into two Districts 325 A and 325 B. The 1st District Governor of 325 A became Lion S. P. Pradhan MJF and Lion Basanta Lal Shrestha for District 325 B.

4 Lions Districts in Nepal:
In 2012-13 :

Lions Clubs International Multiple District 325, Nepal was again bifurcated into four districts 325 A1, 325 A2, 325 B1, and 325 B2 and the elected governors were Lion Uttam Raj Kayastha, Lion Biju Bajracharya, Lion Deepak Shrestha, Lion Shem Raj Shakya respectively.

The Current District Governor of 325 C is Lion Vijay Hari Sharma.
The Current District Governor of 325 D is Lion Ramesh Kumar Lama.
The Current District Governor of 325 E is Lion Hari Prasad Dahal.
The Current District Governor of 325 F is Lion Shiva Kumar Katawal.
The Current District Governor of 325 G is Lion Dipak Krishna Prajapati.
The Current District Governor of 325 H is Lion Sambhu Bahadur Thapa.
The Current District Governor of 325 I is Lion Chandra Kumar KC.
The Current District Governor of 325 J is Lion Hari Prasad Marahatta.
The Current District Governor of 325 K is Lion Suchitra Thapa.
The Current District Governor of 325 L is Lion Parmeshwor Baral.
The Current District Governor of 325 M is Lion Bhim Lal Paudyal.
The Current District Governor of 325 N is Lion Mukut Dhakal.
The Current District Governor of 325 P is Lion Arjun Man Sainju.
The Current District Governor of 325 R is Lion RS Mahato.
The Current District Governor of 325 S is Lion Devaki Nandan Agrawal.

Once again congratulations to you all Lion Leaders for Nepal Lions Day 2023, an important event which is celebrated on 9th August every year. This day is an occasion to celebrate the national spirit of pride, unity and solidarity among the people of Nepal. It is a day to remind us of our responsibilities as citizens of this beautiful nation to live in harmony and to build a better future for our children, our families and our nation. This day is also an opportunity for us to recognize and appreciate the contributions of Lions Clubs International to the progress and development of our country, particularly in the areas of community service and human welfare.

The ideals and mission of Lions Clubs International have inspired and sought to improve the quality of life for our people, especially the vulnerable members of society, through service and advocacy. We are proud to have such an organization as our partner in progress and thankful for their consistent support and dedication to making a positive difference in our nation. On this day, we have the chance to thank them for their efforts and to show our support and appreciation.

Let us all take a moment to remember the achievements of the organization, to reflect on our role as citizens of Nepal and to strive towards a brighter tomorrow. We can all become true Lion Leaders and dedicate our time, energy and resources towards making Nepal a more equitable and prosperous society. Long live the tradition of Nepal Lions Day 9’th August 2023 !!
