"When there is a need, there is a Lions Club"

When there is a need, a Lions Club can often be found to lend a helping hand. Lions Clubs are volunteer organizations comprised of passionate individuals with a common goal of helping to improve their local areas and communities around the world. From helping the visually impaired, providing disaster relief, to conducting vision and hearing screenings, the members of Lions Clubs make a lasting impact on their communities. Lions Clubs seek to build bridges to international understanding as well as cultivate a spirit of cooperation among people of all backgrounds, beliefs and nationalities. In 2019 alone, Lions Clubs reported volunteering more than 8.9 million hours and provided nearly $150 million in financial aid. The global reach of Lions Clubs is far-reaching, with clubs located in more than 200 countries and approximately 1.4 million members. Lions Clubs serve through service projects that meet a wide range of local needs with the support of their memberships’ generous donations. Lions Clubs are the perfect example of what can be achieved when people come together to make a difference and help those in need. The primary focus of the organization is to improve the lives of people through service projects that meet the needs of their community. Lions Clubs International supports a vast array of initiatives, including health programs, disaster relief, youth programs, and environmental sustainability. A primary mission is the elimination of preventable blindness, which is achieved through screenings and providing access to corrective lenses and medical care. Lions clubs around the world also help provide clean drinking water, food banks, disaster relief, special healthcare and medical equipment, and help for senior citizens. The organization even has an Adopt-A-School program that provides financial assistance, supplies, and hands-on expertise to schools in need. Furthermore, Lions Clubs International encourages members to get involved with environmental conservation efforts and animal protection programs. The organization's widespread service projects and volunteer initiatives show the world the power of compassion, unity, and collaboration to make the world a better place.
