LCIF stands for Lions Clubs International Foundation, and it is your Foundation for Service! Established in 1968, LCIF is a tax-exempt public charity dedicated to serving the world and responding to important human needs. The Foundation’s strength lies with its long history, philanthropic purpose, civic standing and dedication to helping others. The Foundation has granted over US$1.3 billion to Lions’ projects and those of other philanthropic organizations since its inception in 1968. In addition, LCIF sponsors global initiatives and assists Lions with services, programs, materials and publications to further their progress. LCIF has impacted the life of people across the world by directly funding community projects, supporting disaster relief work and providing grants for vision and hearing initiatives. Through its grant programs and funding opportunities, LCIF has provided people with access to education, healthcare, clean water, and food security, just to name a few. LCIF’s success relies on contributions from Lions around the world, which collectively allow them to make a positive difference in the lives of those they serve. Through generous donations to the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) and local Lions club fundraising efforts, Lions work to provide immediate relief and restoration to those affected by natural and man-made disasters. LCIF assesses the need and then works directly with Lions or through affiliates to provide immediate response to disaster-affected communities. It has been designed to equip pre-adolescents, adolescents, and educators with the skills and knowledge necessary to become responsible citizens and socially active members of their communities.
