VISION ISSUE
Dear Lions Leaders, When we talk about Nepal, we have an obligation to ensure everyone in our communities have the same opportunities for better vision. We have a vision for ensuring that everyone in our communities should have access to preventive vision treatments and therapies. This is not a privilege, but a basic right of everyone, especially in countries like Nepal where access to such services is limited. The Lions Club International District 325L in Nepal is deeply committed to tackling vision issues in the region and is actively working to alleviate the burden of vision problems among the region’s population. The club is engaging in a variety of activities to achieve this goal. It is providing free eye health camps in areas where access to eye care is limited, offering free eyeglasses and distributing eye health guidance literature. They also work with local universities and medical centers to facilitate eye health research and training of medical doctors and nurses. The club additionally provides support to local schools and universities to ensure that children are receiving adequate eye care and that local communities understand vision issues and can access necessary resources for dealing with them. It is also working to create an awareness campaign to highlight the causes and challenges of vision issues for the general public in Nepal. By investing in these initiatives, the Lions Club International District 325L is helping to ensure a more prosperous and healthy future for the people of Nepal. As Lions Leaders, we are in the unique position to rally on for our fellow citizens and fight for their improved vision. Together, we can help transform the country’s visual health system. We can unite to make sure everyone in our communities have the same opportunities, regardless of age or socio-economic status. To do this, we can invest in community-based programs, scale-up outreach and awareness campaigns, reach out to people in remote areas to access eye care services and build innovative solutions to make eye care more accessible. We can also support preventive eye care to avoid the devastating effects of vision loss, investing in creative solutions for primary care delivery, and advocating for investment in ophthalmology. We have the power to make a real difference in the visual health of every community in Nepal. Let’s unite for better vision of Nepal and commit to making a world of difference!
